Pistacchio Biscotti

Still warm from the oven this plate of delicious biscuits was served to us with a pot of tea on the terrace of our hotel. They were absolutely delicious and I am regretful that I forgot to ask the chef for the recipe. Now there's another reason to return to Tuscany!

Another Taste of Italy

Sadly it wasn't me who ordered this delicious cheese selection for lunch but I looked on enviously. Traditionally in Tuscany local cheeses are served with honey and walnuts which is a combination that, in the sunshine, really works. I bought a wooden board like this in Siena so will try to recreate this presentation at home.

Pappardelle con Chingiale

Well this is the moment you have all been waiting for. My first post from Tuscany. One of our most memorable meals was in a very uninspiring, almost deserted restaurant on the road from Palazzetto to Siena. The four of us sat on the terrace at Albergo Ristorante "Da Vestro" where only one other table was occupied and had some of the most delicious food of the whole holiday. My pappardelle with wild boar was delicious and Marc said that his pasta was the best he had ever eaten anywhere!

Gooseberries

Finding Gooseberries in the shops is such a treat at this time of year. On Friday night I used them in a crumble and for tonight's dinner I created a gooseberry fool using Greek yoghurt instead of cream. Serving it in martini glasses might be a bit too retro but it did look pretty.

Pizza in Mouans Sartous

Idyllic views, glorious weather and fabulous company made our week long stay in this village in the South of France a couple of years ago a real treat. Charlotte and Jess treated us to the most delicious homemade pizza one lunch time.

As Pretty as a Picture and Delicious Too

I had this salad for lunch every day last year when Marc and I went to Tuscany. It was beautiful to look at and delicious to eat. Returning to the same hotel this summer and hope it is still on the menu. www.borgosantopietro.com

Another Reason to visit New York

Cafe Habana is a favourite eating spot for us in New York. Plantain and the grilled corn Mexican style are worth going out of your way for. The grilled corn is tossed in butter, cheese and chilli powder and is mouth-wateringly delicious. Have made it at home and it is easy to do and delicious if a little hip-widening! http://www.cafehabana.com
